Salvations in South Bank

The team at South Bank Community Grocery (Middlesbrough) have been running an Alpha course over the last eight weeks. We caught up with store manager, Anne, to hear what God has been doing.

‘As a team we’ve been praying that Gemma* would meet with Jesus since the store first opened in April. She regularly comes along to The Open Well sessions our partner church runs each week where the gospel is preached and people from the community can come along to get to know the grocery and Eden teams and ask any questions about faith they may have. Gemma shared with us, how difficult life is for her at home, as she’s sadly lost one of her children and two others are currently in prison. But she’s been coming along to the Alpha course we’ve been running and discovered more about God and at the Holy Spirit night, she gave her life to Jesus – praise God!

‘We’ve also seen a huge change in Paula*. Before meeting her, we’d actually been praying with her mum in the shop who had been asking God to breakthrough in Paula’s life. After praying, Paula’s mum went straight round to see her and invited her along to the Alpha course starting at the grocery that day. Paula said “yes”, came along and we got the opportunity to pray with her. Over the weeks, she’s continued coming to Alpha and in the last session gave her life to Jesus and shared her testimony. It was so special!’

Do keep praying for all our Community Grocery teams as they share the love of Jesus with their members and volunteers, and pray that people like Gemma and Paula would continue having their lives changed by Jesus.
